2000 to 2002 Transocean (Gulf of Mexico Division) Houston Texas
Serving on DEEPWATER PATHFINDER (60,002 GRT), a combination drillship and FPSO in the Gulf of Mexico, rated for 130 persons and 10,000 feet water depth limits. The ship operates at a draft of 12.3 meters and in a DP-3 status.

1989 to 2000 Oceaneering International, Inc. (OSE) Houston Texas
Serving in foreign trade around the world, in command of deep ocean salvage and survey ship THE PERFORMER (GRT 4230). With crews up to 75 men, vessel operates in oil-field surveys, cable burial, sub-sea construction work, government salvage, and insurance company investigations world-wide, in water depths to 6000+ meters, with state of the art dynamic positioning equipment and underwater robotics. The vessel can remain on-station in weather up to storm level using the heavy lift cranes and winches for sub-sea inspections and recovery of items ranging from aircraft wreckage up to 50 tonnes. Saturation divers have worked over the side in depths to 200 meters, and remote vehicles are used to full ocean depth.

1986 to 1989 Sonat Offshore Drilling Co. Houston Texas
Served as master on DISCOVER SEVEN SEAS (GRT 11997) in Gulf of Mexico operations, setting world record for 7500 feet production drilling water depth, with crew of upwards to 100 men on dynamically positioned drillship. The vessel maintained station over the well-bore while full exploration and testing operations were on-going.

1983 to 1986 Global Marine Drilling Co. Houston Texas
Served on jack-ups as barge master and on moored/DP drillships as chief mate in the Gulf of Mexico area in water depths to 1600 feet.

Education

Bachelor of Science, with Honors, in Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University -Texas Maritime Academy 1972, graduated first in class. Graduate studies in Management of Ship Operations, University of Strathclyde - Centre for Advanced Maritime Studies.
